Docparser pricing starts at $39 a month for 100 documents on Starter, then $74 for 250 documents on Professional and $159 for 1,000 documents on Business, with Enterprise by quote. Paying yearly cuts about 20 percent, to $32.50, $61.50 and $133 a month. One credit is one document of up to five pages, so for invoices you pay roughly 16 to 39 cents per bill.
Those figures come from Docparser's own pricing page, checked on September 30, 2026. Below are the full plan table, the add-ons that change the real bill for accounts payable work (users, parsers and multi-layout parsing), and what a team reading 250, 1,000 or 3,000 vendor invoices a month would pay compared with a tool built only for invoices.
Docparser plans and prices
| Plan | Credits | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | Yearly, per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 100 a month (1,200 a year) | $39 | $390 | $32.50 |
| Professional | 250 a month (3,000 a year) | $74 | $738 | $61.50 |
| Business | 1,000 a month (12,000 a year) | $159 | $1,596 | $133 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Quote | Quote | Quote |
Every plan has a 14-day trial with no credit card. Docparser reads PDF, Word and image files and exports to Excel, CSV, JSON, XML and Google Sheets.
How much does Docparser cost per invoice?
Docparser costs between about 13 and 39 cents per invoice, depending on the plan and billing term. Starter at $39 for 100 documents is 39 cents each; Professional at $74 for 250 is about 30 cents; Business at $159 for 1,000 is about 16 cents. Paid yearly, those drop to roughly 33, 25 and 13 cents.
The unit is the document, not the page. Docparser defines one parsing credit as "1 document with up to 5 pages". That is a real advantage if your vendors send long bills: a four-page freight invoice costs one credit. A single PDF over five pages uses more than one.
What the plan table does not show
The headline prices are only part of the bill for AP work. Three limits matter more for invoices than for most document types.
Users
Starter is listed as solo, a single user. Team and managed users start on Professional. If two people in AP and your controller all need to see the queue, the $39 plan is off the table before you count documents.
Parsers and vendor layouts
Docparser works through parsers that you set up with parsing rules. Starter allows 15 parsers, Professional 50 and Business 500. A parser that handles several document layouts needs the Multi-Layout Parsers feature, which costs an extra $25 to $29.95 a month on Starter and Professional and is included on Business. Parser version control is another $8.33 to $9.95 a month below Business, and multifactor authentication is $5 to $5.95 a month on Starter.
Why this matters for payables: your invoices come from dozens or hundreds of vendors, and each one lays its bill out differently. A tool built around rules per layout means setup time every time a new vendor appears. Docparser sells a Parsing Assistant service at $149 per layout if you want them to build it for you.
Retention
Extended retention of 120 or 360 days is an option you add. If you keep invoice images for audit in your accounting system anyway, you may not need it, but check before you rely on Docparser as the record.
Docparser cost at real AP volumes
Here is what three typical US teams would pay on monthly billing, using Docparser's published prices and assuming invoices of one or two pages. PayablesAgent prices by page: Starter is $49 a month for 2,500 pages with one seat, Plus is $149 a month for 10,000 pages with three seats and QuickBooks Online export.
| Invoices a month | Docparser plan | Docparser monthly | PayablesAgent plan | PayablesAgent monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 250, two users | Professional, plus Multi-Layout Parsers | $74 plus $29.95 = $103.95 | Plus (3 seats) | $149 |
| 250, one user | Professional (Starter caps at 100) | $74 to $103.95 | Starter | $49 |
| 1,000 | Business | $159 | Starter if under 2,500 pages, else Plus | $49 or $149 |
| 3,000 | Enterprise (Business stops at 1,000) | Quote | Plus | $149 |
The honest read: for a small team that needs several seats and has short invoices, Docparser Professional and our Plus plan land in the same range. Once volume passes 1,000 invoices a month, Docparser moves to a quote while a page-based invoice plan stays at $149 up to 10,000 pages. If most of your bills run four or five pages, Docparser's per-document credit narrows the gap, so count pages as well as invoices before you decide.
Is Docparser good for invoice processing?
Docparser is good for invoices when you have a small, stable set of vendors whose layouts rarely change. Rules-based parsing is predictable and cheap to run once each layout is set up. It gets harder when new vendors arrive every month, because each layout needs rules or a multi-layout parser, and that setup work lands on AP.
It also fits teams that parse more than invoices. If you are extracting fields from purchase orders, delivery notes, forms and shipping documents in the same account, one general tool can be simpler than several specialist ones.
Is there a cheaper Docparser alternative for invoices?
For vendor invoices specifically, yes, especially above 1,000 invoices a month or when vendors change often. PayablesAgent reads vendor, invoice number, dates, tax, totals and every line item on the invoice without per-vendor rules, on published plans of $49 and $149 a month. Excel and CSV exports are on every plan, QuickBooks Online export is on Plus, and JSON comes through the API on Pro.
Other options price the job differently. Parseur charges per page rather than per document and caps its plans below 10,000 pages at one user; our Parseur pricing breakdown works out the cost per invoice. Nanonets charges per block run, which our Nanonets pricing analysis converts to cost per invoice at four volumes.
How to compare Docparser against an invoice tool in one afternoon
- Pull 20 recent invoices from at least 10 different vendors, including a few scans and a few bills with 30 or more lines.
- Start the Docparser trial and time how long it takes to get clean fields out of all 10 layouts.
- Upload the same 20 files to the tool at the top of this page and check vendor, dates, totals and each line against the PDF.
- Import one batch from each into your ledger the way you do today.
- Price both at your real monthly volume, in pages and in documents, including any add-ons you needed.
If your AP inbox is spread across several addresses (ap@, billing@, a controller's own mailbox), it also helps to pull every mailbox into one place before you count volume, so the test reflects every bill you actually receive.
Does Docparser have a free plan?
No. Docparser offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card, then the cheapest plan is Starter at $39 a month, or $32.50 a month billed yearly. The trial is enough to test layouts and exports, but plan for a paid tier if you parse invoices every month.
Bottom line
Docparser is a flexible, rules-based parser with fair prices at low volume, and its five-page document credit is generous for long invoices. For accounts payable it has two costs the plan table hides: seats (Starter is one user) and layout setup for every new vendor. If your job is getting vendor invoices into Excel or QuickBooks with line items, test a purpose-built invoice tool alongside it. You can upload an invoice at the top of this page and see the extracted rows before you pay anything, then compare our plans against the Docparser tier you would actually need. The vendor-by-vendor comparison, including where Docparser still wins, is on our Docparser alternative page.
