Yooz vs Medius is a choice between a volume-priced invoice platform and a quote-only suite built for bigger finance teams. Yooz offers a 15-day free trial, then one Gold Edition priced on how many documents you process, with unlimited users. Medius sells two packages, AP Essentials and AP 360, both with unlimited users and both priced by quote only. Neither publishes a dollar figure, so the real comparison is what each package includes and who it is built for.
This guide uses the plan details printed on medius.com/pricing and getyooz.com/pricing, checked on 2026-10-30. Where a number comes from a vendor's own marketing, it says so. At the end there is a short section for the team whose actual problem is keying invoice lines into QuickBooks, because that does not always need either platform.

How much do Yooz and Medius cost?
Neither one tells you. Yooz bases its subscription on the volume of documents you process, so the bill moves in bands. Medius asks you to contact sales for a custom quote for either package, and its optional modules are added for additional cost. Directories sometimes print a starting figure for Yooz, but Yooz does not confirm it, and we would not budget from it.
What you can compare is structure. With Yooz, the main cost lever is volume. With Medius, the levers are the package you pick, the number of entities, and the add-ons. A company that wants payments, supplier onboarding and procurement from Medius is buying a suite, and the quote reflects that. A company that wants invoices captured, coded and approved is buying a smaller thing in either case.
Which is better for a small US company?
On the evidence of the vendors themselves, Yooz is aimed at smaller teams and Medius at larger or more complex ones. Medius describes AP Essentials as the package for teams replacing manual AP, and AP 360 as the one for organizations with greater scale, complexity or growth ahead. Review sites such as Capterra show most Yooz users as small businesses. Treat that as direction, not proof, because review counts are small.
A practical split looks like this:
- Pick Yooz when you process a steady volume of invoices, want a trial in production before you commit, and need purchase requisitions and POs alongside invoices.
- Pick Medius when you run several legal entities, need fraud and risk checks and a supplier portal, or expect to add procurement, payments and contract management over time.
- Pick neither when your volume is a few hundred invoices a month, you already pay bills in QuickBooks or another system, and the only slow step is reading the invoice.
What Medius and Yooz say about accuracy
Medius says on its own comparison page that it reports 90% or more touchless processing with AI workflows, and that it was named a Leader in the March 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Accounts Payable Applications. Those are vendor claims. Touchless rates depend heavily on how many of your invoices are clean, PO-backed and from repeat vendors, so ask both vendors to run your own sample before you accept a percentage.
Do the same test with any tool, including ours. Take 20 real invoices, include the ugly ones, and compare the fields that matter: vendor, invoice number, dates, tax, total and each line.
Implementation and who runs it
Both platforms are projects, not downloads. Yooz includes four hours of complimentary service and a 15-day trial, which is a fair way to learn whether your approval flow fits. Medius does not state implementation terms on its pricing page, so plan for a scoped engagement and ask for a written estimate that covers your ERP connection. Whichever you choose, confirm in the demo exactly how it connects to your accounting system. Medius lists no integrations on its pricing page, and Yooz's 250-plus figure is its own claim, so QuickBooks Online versus Desktop support should be confirmed in writing.
Payment is the other fork. If you pay vendors by ACH and check from your bank or from QuickBooks, you may not need the payment module at all. When the books are reconciled each month, the last step is usually a bank file, and it helps to convert the bank statement to a file your accounting software imports rather than retyping it.
When a capture tool costs less than both
If you do not need approvals across entities, a supplier portal or procurement, the part of AP that eats the hours is data entry. Typing vendor, dates, tax and line items from PDF invoices into QuickBooks is what an extraction tool does.
PayablesAgent publishes its plans: Starter at $49 a month for 2,500 pages and one seat, Plus at $149 a month for 10,000 pages with three seats and QuickBooks Online export, and Pro from $499 a month with five seats and a REST API. There is no quote or sales call. You can upload invoices with the tool at the top of this page and see the output before you talk to either platform. It does not replace a full approval and payment suite, and we would say so in a demo. If you want the wider field, our Yooz alternative page compares Yooz with other options, and our best OCR software for invoice processing guide lists capture tools with published prices.
Yooz vs Medius FAQ
Does Yooz have a free trial?
Yes. Yooz offers a 15-day free trial in a production environment with no commitment. After the trial, the paid Gold Edition is priced on the number of documents you process and includes unlimited users and four hours of complimentary onboarding service.
Does Medius publish its pricing?
No. Medius says to contact sales for a custom quote and lists no dollar amounts. It sells two packages, AP Essentials and AP 360, both with unlimited users, and optional add-ons such as Payments, Procurement and Contract Management at extra cost.
What is the difference between Medius AP Essentials and AP 360?
Both include AP automation with multi-way matching, Medius Capture, Analytics and unlimited users. AP 360 adds Copilot, Supplier Conversations, Fraud and Risk Detection and a Supplier Portal, and covers 3 entities instead of 1.
Is Yooz or Medius better for small business?
Yooz is usually the closer fit for small and mid-sized teams, since it has one edition, a trial and volume-based pricing. Medius targets larger or more complex finance teams. If you only need invoice data entry into QuickBooks, a capture tool is cheaper than either.
Do Yooz and Medius work with QuickBooks?
Yooz claims more than 250 accounting and ERP integrations. Medius does not list integrations on its pricing page. Ask each vendor to confirm your exact QuickBooks version, Online or Desktop, and whether bills sync both ways, before you sign.
