Routable comparison for US finance teams

Routable Competitors and Routable Pricing Compared With Routable Alternatives

Routable's Growth plan is $1,250 a month, and the invoice OCR most AP teams want is not in it. Trainable OCR is an add-on on the quoted Scale plan. If the job you need done is getting vendor invoices read into QuickBooks, Excel or your ERP, PayablesAgent does that for $49 a month, or $149 with three seats.

The short answer

Routable is a payouts platform first. At $1,250 a month (about $1,000 billed annually) you get unlimited users, mass payouts, international payments and an API, but invoice capture, PO matching and predictive coding sit on the Scale plan, which is quoted. If you pay a few hundred domestic vendors a month and the pain is typing bills, keep paying from your bank or ledger and buy capture on its own: PayablesAgent reads invoices to the line item for $49 or $149 a month, cancel any month.

How Routable pricing works

Routable publishes one price. The Growth plan is $1,250 a month billed monthly, and annual billing saves 20%. Growth covers unlimited user seats, accounting and ERP integrations, domestic and international payments, instant payments, mass payouts, transaction monitoring, CSV uploads, API access, webhooks, standard approval workflows, domestic vendor tax forms and up to 1,000 vendors.

Scale and Enterprise are quoted. The plan table puts the invoice side of AP there: Trainable OCR, PO matching, predictive coding and advanced approval workflows, along with up to 3,000 vendors on Scale, 1099 and 1042-S filing, OFAC monitoring, TIN validation, multi-entity support and SSO.

Payment fees come on top and are not printed on the pricing page. Routable's own FAQ asks "Does it cost more to send a payment faster?", which tells you speed is priced. Before a call, write down your vendor count, invoices per month, and how many payments go out by standard ACH, same-day ACH, check and international wire. That is what the quote will be built on.

When Routable is the better buy

Routable does things a capture tool never will. If one of these is your main problem, keep it on the shortlist.

You send mass payouts

Marketplaces, gig platforms, logistics brokers and media companies paying hundreds of contractors or carriers at once need batch payouts, vendor onboarding and tax forms. That is what Routable is built around.

You pay vendors abroad

International payments are on the Growth plan. If a real share of your vendors are outside the US, a payouts platform saves more than it costs.

Your product triggers payments

With the API and webhooks on every plan, engineering can send payouts from your own app. A capture tool gives you invoice data through an API, not money movement.

Many people approve bills

Unlimited seats mean managers across the company can approve without a seat bill. Our plans cap seats at 1, 3 or 5, so a company with dozens of approvers is better served by a platform.

Routable competitors grouped by the job you need done

Most Routable alternative lists mix payouts platforms, bill pay apps and invoice capture tools. Pick the job first and the shortlist gets short.

Payouts and global AP

Tipalti starts at $99 a month for AP with transaction fees on top and covers 200+ countries. AvidXchange quotes every deal and pays through its AvidPay network.

Bill pay for small teams

BILL charges $49 to $89 per user per month with ACH at $0.59. Melio runs from $0 to $80 a month with free ACH allotments. QuickBooks Bill Pay has a $0 tier inside QuickBooks Online.

Invoice capture only

If payments already work, you only need bills read. Dext is $25.21 a month billed annually for 250 documents, with line items as an add-on. PayablesAgent is $49 for 2,500 pages with line items included.

Who gets more from invoice capture than from Routable

A controller with domestic vendors only

Your bank already sends ACH for free or close to it. What eats the week is keying 400 bills into NetSuite or QuickBooks. $149 a month solves that; $1,250 a month buys a payments engine you would barely use.

A team that found out OCR is extra

If your Routable demo showed invoice capture and the proposal lists Scale, you now have two numbers to compare: the Scale quote and the Growth price plus a separate capture plan.

An outsourced bookkeeper

Firms that enter bills for several clients need clean line items exported per client, not a payouts account per client. Pages are priced once, whichever client they belong to.

Pull 20 recent vendor invoices, including your ugliest scans and a few with 30+ line items.

2

Upload them in the tool at the top of this page and check vendor, dates, totals and each line against the PDF.

3

Export to Excel or CSV and import one batch into your ledger the way you do today.

4

Price it: your monthly pages against $49 or $149, next to the Routable Scale quote.

Questions buyers ask about Routable

How much does Routable cost?

Routable's Growth plan costs $1,250 a month billed monthly, and annual billing saves 20%, so about $1,000 a month or $12,000 a year. Growth includes unlimited users, up to 1,000 vendors, domestic and international payments, mass payouts, API access and standard approvals. Scale and Enterprise are quoted.

Does Routable include invoice OCR?

Not on Growth. Routable's plan table lists Trainable OCR under Invoice Automation as an add-on on the Scale plan, next to PO matching and predictive coding. Because Scale is quoted, reading invoices in Routable costs more than the $1,250 Growth price, and you only learn how much after a sales call.

Does Routable charge transaction fees?

Payment fees are not printed on Routable's pricing page, but its FAQ asks whether faster payments cost more, so speed and method are priced. Ask for the per-payment schedule for standard ACH, same-day ACH, check and international payouts, and multiply it by last quarter's payment mix.

What are the best Routable competitors?

For payouts and AP together, compare Tipalti, BILL and AvidXchange. For bill pay at small-business prices, Melio and QuickBooks Bill Pay. For invoice capture only, Dext and PayablesAgent. We read invoices to the line item for $49 a month (2,500 pages) or $149 (10,000 pages, 3 seats).

Is Routable worth it for a small business?

Usually not if you pay fewer than a few hundred domestic vendors a month. Routable's lowest published plan is $1,250 a month and it is built for high-volume and international payouts. A small business that mainly needs bills entered is better off paying from its bank or ledger and buying capture separately.
