Stampli Alternative and Stampli Competitors, Prices Compared for Invoice Capture

Stampli is a full procure-to-pay platform sold by quote, with pricing set by how many entities, locations and vendors you run. If your team mainly needs supplier invoices read and turned into clean rows for QuickBooks, NetSuite or Sage, PayablesAgent does that on a published flat price: $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with no sales call.

Stampli details on this page come from Stampli's own pricing and product pages, checked September 18, 2026.

The short answer

The right Stampli alternative depends on which part of Stampli you would be replacing. Teams that depend on its approval routing, PO matching and vendor payments should compare other AP platforms such as BILL, Tipalti, AvidXchange and Medius. Teams that bought Stampli, or are about to, mostly to stop keying invoices into the ERP can get that job done by a flat-priced extraction tool for a fraction of an enterprise AP contract, and keep approvals and payments where they already run.

Stampli competitors at a glance

Stampli publishes no prices, and neither do most of its closest competitors. The table shows which ones do, what each replaces, and who each suits, using only figures from the vendors' own pricing pages or marketplace listings.

How Stampli pricing works

Stampli does not list a price anywhere on its site. The pricing page asks you to request a quote and names three things that drive it: the number of entities or locations, the number of vendors, and the feature tier you pick. In practice you learn the number after a discovery call and a demo, not before.

What the core "Stampli for Accounts Payable" product includes, according to that page: automated invoice capture, unlimited entities, locations, vendors and PO matching, semi-automated two and three way matching (with full automation through its Cognitive AI add-on), twelve pre-built reports and dashboards, and a dedicated customer success manager. Everything outside AP is a module: Stampli Procurement, Stampli Direct Pay for check, ACH and wire, Stampli Credit Card, and Advanced Vendor Management.

That packaging makes sense for the companies Stampli is built around. Its homepage cites 1,900+ customers, 15,000 entities and more than 400,000 invoices processed a week, and its case studies lean toward multi-location construction, manufacturing, healthcare and automotive groups. A controller running 40 locations through NetSuite gets real value from a CSM and unlimited entities.

It fits less well if you are a single-entity company or a bookkeeping practice with a few hundred invoices a month. You still go through a sales cycle, you still sign a contract sized for a platform, and most of what you use day to day is the capture step at the front of it. That is usually the moment people start typing "Stampli alternative" into Google.

When Stampli is the better buy

If any of these describe your AP function, a data extraction tool will not replace Stampli, and you should compare it against other AP platforms instead.

Approvals involve people outside finance

Stampli's design puts the conversation on the invoice itself, so a site manager or department head can ask a question, attach a note and approve without learning an accounting system. If getting non-finance approvers to respond is your real bottleneck, that collaboration layer is what you are paying for.

You match against purchase orders every day

Two and three way matching against POs and receipts is built into Stampli's core product. Companies that buy inventory or materials on POs need that control before payment, and a capture tool that only reads the invoice leaves the match to a person.

You run many entities through one AP team

Unlimited entities and locations are included in the core plan. A group with dozens of legal entities on NetSuite or Sage Intacct gets a lot from that, and from having a success manager who knows the setup.

You want payments and cards in the same system

Direct Pay and Stampli Card close the loop from invoice to payment. If you need approval routing and payment runs but want something lighter, a dedicated accounts payable automation platform for smaller teams is the next thing to look at.

Stampli competitors, grouped by the job you need done

Most "Stampli alternatives" lists mix two different kinds of product. Sorting them by job makes the shortlist much shorter.

Full AP platform

BILL

The most common comparison for US small and mid-size companies. Published per-user pricing, a large vendor payment network and AR in the same login. See our Bill.com alternative comparison for plan-by-plan costs.

Full AP platform

Tipalti

Strongest when the problem is paying suppliers across many countries and collecting tax forms. More than a domestic AP team with US vendors usually needs. Its $99 starting price and per-invoice fees are broken down in our Tipalti alternative comparison.

Spend platform

Ramp

Bill pay sits next to corporate cards and expense management. A good fit if you want cards and AP from one vendor and are willing to run spend through its card.

Full AP platform

AvidXchange and Medius

Mid-market and upper mid-market AP suites. AvidXchange has deep vertical coverage in real estate and HOA management; Medius targets complex, multi-entity approval structures. What AvidXchange quotes depend on is covered in our AvidXchange pricing and alternative comparison.

AI-first AP

Vic.ai and Ottimate

Lead with autonomous invoice coding. Ottimate is common in restaurants and hospitality groups. Both are sold by quote, like Stampli.

Invoice capture only

PayablesAgent

Reads invoices, bills and receipts and returns vendor, invoice number, dates, tax, totals and line items as Excel, CSV, JSON or QuickBooks Online data. Published flat pricing, self-serve. Closest peers on this job: Dext and Rossum.

Who gets more from invoice capture than from Stampli

Single-entity companies on QuickBooks

One entity, a few hundred invoices a month, approvals handled by the owner or controller. You need clean bills in QuickBooks, not a platform with a CSM. See invoice OCR for QuickBooks.

NetSuite and Sage teams with their own approvals

If approval workflows already live in the ERP, a second approval system duplicates them. Feed the ERP structured invoice data and keep its controls. See invoice processing for NetSuite and Sage invoice data extraction.

Bookkeeping and CPA practices

A practice producing coded transactions for many clients cannot put each one on an enterprise AP contract. Page-based pricing covers the whole client base from one account. See invoice OCR for CPAs.

Teams evaluating Stampli for capture

If the demo impressed you mostly because invoices were read without typing, test that one step on your own documents first. It takes minutes and tells you whether you need the rest.

Developers building their own AP flow

If you want invoice fields as JSON feeding an internal tool, an API is the product, not a UI. See the invoice and receipt OCR API.

High-volume back offices

When the constraint is thousands of documents, pricing by page tracks the work. Pro plans run to 350,000 pages a month. See bulk invoice processing software.

How to decide in one afternoon

  1. 1

List what happens after an invoice arrives

Write down every step: capture, coding, PO match, approval, payment, sync. Mark which ones already work today without Stampli. Whatever is left is what you are shopping for.

  2. 2

Pull 20 real invoices, including the ugly ones

Scanned paper, multi-page utility bills, invoices with 30 line items, a vendor that puts the invoice number in an odd place. Accuracy claims mean nothing until they meet your own supplier mix.

  3. 3

Run them through the upload tool above

Check vendor, invoice number, dates, subtotal, tax, total and every line item against the paper. Use Pro AI for scans and handwriting, Base AI for clean digital PDFs.

  4. 4

Compare the annual cost of each path

Your Stampli quote on one side. On the other, a PayablesAgent plan plus whatever you keep for approvals and payments. If the second number is smaller and nothing on your step list is left uncovered, switch.

Questions buyers ask about Stampli

How much does Stampli cost?

Stampli does not publish prices. Every customer gets a quote, and Stampli's pricing page says the figure depends on the number of entities or locations, the number of vendors and the feature tier. Payments, procurement, cards and advanced vendor management are separate modules on top of the core AP product, so the final number depends on which you add.

Does Stampli charge per user?

Stampli's own pricing page names entities, locations, vendors and tier as the pricing drivers, not seats. That is friendlier than per-seat pricing when many approvers need access. Some third-party reviews also mention invoice volume and user count as factors, so confirm exactly what your quote is based on before you sign.

What are the main Stampli competitors?

Among full AP platforms: BILL, Tipalti, Ramp, AvidXchange, Medius, Vic.ai and Ottimate. If the only part of Stampli you rely on is reading invoices into your ERP, the relevant comparison is invoice data extraction tools such as PayablesAgent, Dext and Rossum, which cost far less because they do one job.

Does Stampli integrate with QuickBooks?

Yes. Stampli lists QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop among its integrations, along with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP and Oracle. The integration comes as part of a quoted contract, so small QuickBooks users often find the platform sized well above what they need for a few hundred bills a month.

Is Stampli better than BILL?

For multi-entity companies with PO matching and approvers outside finance, Stampli is usually the stronger fit. For smaller US businesses that want published prices, self-serve signup and a large payment network, BILL is simpler to buy. Neither is the cheap option if your need is only getting invoice data into the books.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Stampli?

For invoice capture alone, yes. PayablesAgent starts at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with 2,500 Base pages and 500 Pro pages included and no sales call. It does not route approvals or pay vendors. It replaces the data entry part of Stampli and leaves the rest of your process where it is.

Test capture on your own invoices before the next Stampli call

Upload a real supplier invoice and look at the vendor, dates, totals and line items that come back. If that is the part of Stampli you wanted, you can have it this afternoon at a published price.
